From 2 Rooms To Six Branches “No wonder the expedition would not have been tranquil, but the deep faith in the heart and the aim in mind made it expedite”. R.P. School which stands for Radiant Public School, was profoundly set up in 1990, and has evolved and contributed to more effective ways to achieve its goals. Since then it has been 35 years that the founders and co founders have been working tirelessly for the upliftment of society through the envisioned and established principles, pre-devised moral code of conduct, and goals that form the genesis of this institution. The school was founded by the descendants of Abdul Salam Mir, a common man who was in the companionship of a pious and poised woman named Zainab Bano. She was the woman whose spiritual guidance enabled her grandchildren to start this venture of reviving the internal moral compass of children within society. It was the time when the entire Kashmir was grasped by the unfavourable circumstances and the whole aura was invaded by gloom and despair. The initiation of R.P. School emerged to be the beacon of hope, light, and spiritual protection deeply governing the idea of accentuating the modesty (haya) and faith (taqwa) among the youth. Astoundingly, no one could have ever thought that the school would be deemed among the top ten schools in the Kashmir valley. The school formerly established in 1990 as Al Huda Public School was later renamed Radiant Public School had its foundation laid in a hired two room set. The school had no playground for the students to explore their enthusiasm for sports. Being confined to the four walls of 2 rooms, the f irst furniture and stationery items included an office chair, three ordinary chairs, a small wooden table for the office, and a few attendance registers. The grandchildren of Zainab Bano, the four brothers; Shabir Ahmad, Shakeel Hussain, Ashiq Hussain, and Syed Hussain, and a sister Furqana Akhtar, the pioneers of R.P. School, wherein the younger brother budding through his youthful stage acted as the keen spectator, have played the most critical role in establishment of this reputed institute. Gradually, by the grace of Almighty Allah, they climbed the ladder of success and transformed it from a 2 room set to a school that comprised 5 basic classes; class 2nd being the top class. A few years passed by and within 3 years, the number of students reached the count of 300. After the successful establishment of the basic foundation of a school, the grandmother-Zainab Bano correlated her dream and claimed to have seen a huge apple tree laden with fruits, and its branches were bent due to the heavy load on it. Realistically, the tree she had seen in her dream had its roots imbued exactly where the head office of R.P. school is established now. Being a woman with a spiritual essence paved the way for her dreams to come true, albeit after innumerable sacrifices wherein, our honourable Chairman Shabir Sir gave off his reputed position at State Bank of India, disposed of the entire ancestral land, and embarked on the journey with a ray of hope and a clear vision. With tireless efforts, vision, and constructed goals, a 2 room set now has become an empire of 6 branches in the beautiful valley of Kashmir wherein 3 branches are on the outskirts of Srinagar city. However, this journey would be never-ending as the plethora of constructive ideas and thirst to benefit society in various spheres hold a unique significance. With a well-defined vision in mind and countless goals, in the year 2024, the school would navigate through the path of its ultimate purpose and vision of transposing from high school to higher secondary. Today, the entire empire has been nurturing the minds of 10,000+ students under the guidance of almost 520+ teachers making the vision and mission of the R.P. group of schools a success. The RP group of schools pays special credence to dignitaries who worked relentlessly to whirl a dream into a radiant actuality. The dignitaries include the Chairman of R.P. group of schools Mr. Shabir Ahmad Mir, Mr. Ghulam Hassan, Ashiq Hussain Nadvi, Shakeel Hussain, Furqana Akhtar, Muzaffar Bhat, Nazia Nisar, Safa Azad Shah and numerous others.
